Bold Price.
So after officially finding out the price of the bold for rogers whats your take on it? I personally didn't think it was going to be this much and actually have my current plan/Phone up on Kijiji right now trying to sell it so I could go with rogers and get a bold. But now im having second thoughts because of the price. Like $400 on top of a 3yr plan is kinda nuts. I don't really feel like paying that much for a phone right now. plus pay more than what I would at Telus for my plan. Hopefully it will go down in price sometime in the near future. Also one more thought... I didn't think that they would go higher than the Iphone and they did I was suprised.

Robbers is nothing but a bunch of Thieves. Their going to go the way of Bell Canada did her in Montreal.
The minute an alternative was available everyone jumped ship and will NEVER go back. Look at their residential phone service and cell phone service. We just have to wait another year or so before making the move and dumping those turkeys. - 08-15-2008, 09:26 PM #4
**** I'd even pay cost for the phone, just give everyone fair pricing. I mean it's always the same story with them.
The price they start off with is the "were screwing you price", then you gotta fight, complain and threaten to cancel before it goes down, unless you can get on a corp plan. Even then your bill is riddled with mistakes, and eventually they claim your plan is too good to allow you to perform any changes on.
Blah!! that's all I can say, unfortunately I'll still end up getting the Bold because there is nothing that compares : ( -

Man, I just paid $499 retail for my Curve in March... I was going to get the Bold retail too, but I'm turned off even knowing how huge the price tag is going to be.

I was looking forward to the Bold and that the only reason i have stayed with Rogers, Telus is offering me a plan which is better and will pay up to $400 of my cancelation fee, credit to my account..i moved from the states and all i can say is that i can't wait another year...question, why can't we start a petitiion against the pricing like what was done a few months ago with the Rogers data plans (sorry if that sounded really dumb) but i am just fed up with Rogers ripping everyone off

Alot of people do, if you've been paying attention many people are complaining about the price.
While I agree with you to a degree, this is basically a disappointing scenario as alot of us were hoping it would be priced a little more reasonable on a 3 YEAR contract. I for one am already on a contract, so if it's that high on a contract it's going to by sky high straight retail. -

I personally can afford a Bold I just prefer not to spend that much on a phone that also ties me into a 3 year contract. I believe Rogers has upped the price on purpose because of the Iphone and how they want to keep the momentum of it.
iTWire - Rogers ensures BlackBerry no iPhone killer with Bold pricing
this article says it best with the title "Rogers ensures BlackBerry no iPhone killer with Bold pricing"
Its possible the price will go down if people complain about it enough but in the meantime I no longer have any plans of getting a bold because of the price.
