Default Bold asking me to connect to Hotspot at Home

When my wifi is turned on at home my bb says it's a hotspot and it asks me to log in into it. This just started happening tonight. Strange. Any ideas?

Same here on my 9800. even starting swapping OS's and still the same. Does anyone use passwords to protect their wifi? I am on ATT in Northern California

UPDATE: Added security to my wifi, and now it's working normally. Weird!

Well, when your nearest neighbor is over a mile away...security isn't much of a priority.

This started happening to me yesterday as well! Bold 9700 on Telus network in Ontario Canada. Every time I get home it's ASKS me to connect to my network. I accidentally didn't click "Don't ask me every time" and now I can't get it to ask again even after turning off wifi, resetting, etc.. I may have to rename my network. Anyone know HOW or why this started?

What worked for me is on page 3 of the forum thread titled "Wi-fi Hotspot Setup prompt problem". I'd post a link, but I'm new and it won't let me.

The best option I would say to rename your wifi network and see what happen. The other thing is just put a password on wifi network and see what happen. Anyone with a right mind would put a password at least as simple as 123 or ABC not just for banking and other securities, but because it will also prevent any outsiders from using your Internet. (slowing down your network and eating up the resources of your home net)

If you have the BB Protect set to "Only Black Up over Wi-Fi", some people had issues when they connecting to a wifi OR when they just arrived at a saved wifi location. That's why he is asking that... I have not set to that option because I never get even close to 500 MB of my data anyway.

Hope this helps.
