Blackberry Storm 2 Rogers 2G EDGE

I have an unlocked Sotrm 2 originally with telus and im using Rogers 2G edge. im trying to browse and dload App world app so i can dload stuff and its saids my plan does not support it?? My fone supports wifi so why cant i use it?

Rogers supports wifi data unlimited right cuz im at my house with my internet. Help please. Plus thanks for all useful replys

You need a BB data plan in order to get the wifi service books onto your device -- or you need a previous device with a BB data from which you can take the service books from. You're best is to poke around the Storm 2 forums, not the Rogers forums.

But I have wifi on the phone that would work. I know someone else who uses blackberry app world with this plan and they dont even have 3G. I amwondering if there is a way i can use my free wifi with this phone. there must be a way. thank you ! if anyone could answer or knows much thanks and appreciation

No. WiFi requires the proper Service Books from your carrier. If you have them, then you can connect via WiFi. If you don't, then you can't.

The data that you use via WiFi is not counted against your data allowance with your cell phone service provider plan, however, you need a BlackBerry Data Plan on your device in order to get access to the WiFi Service Books.

you should be able to browse but applications such as BBM, email, and appworld will not work as they are BIS services.

To make your browser work on wifi, go to options, browser and change your browser settings to hotspot browser. This should enable to the browsing but will not enable BBM.

I have a plan. my bbm face book twitter and all that works . just not wifi for my apps and just mobile browsing with wifi. but my textng and all else works.


and i do not see hotspot browser only browser there is there was Shop-Magasin not hotspot browser.

is there a way to get hotspot browser by downloading??

The Social Plan does not include App World, data apps, or browsing.

It includes email and instant messaging and whatever voice functions (phone, sms) that you have on your voice plan.

It does not include data. You do NOT have a FULL Data Plan. Without the PROPER Data Plan, you will not get the Service Books.
