Honestly, I'm not sure what it would take. I've had one since early 2008 I believe. Can I live without it? Yes I can. We all can live without a lot of things. It's just nice to have.
No way. It would cost me at least $60 more a month to have an iphone. So besides losing the convenience of the phone it would cost more in the long run.

Nobody would give up their blackberry for 5k. If you got a cheaper phone without the more expensive blackberry data plan, expensive hardware to replace, third party apps and cases (docks etc.)you would save the five grand before long. So in owning a BB you already made the decision to spend more. And as far as iphone I have seen the math done that you pay around 1500 dollars more per year for the iphone than the pre.

I have had other smartphones, but I am sad to say I am BB for life now. I definitely wouldn't give it up for $5k.
This reminds me of the game we used to play in college entitled "Would you x for the national lottery jackpot?" you replace X with anything you like. If you see someone think about it you can also add "What if it was rollover week?".
VERY INTELLIGENT, lol who waits a couple of years to spend 5 grand? That shows you what kind of people is saying this stuff.
the question is as simple as this, in essence, who would take 4.4 grand for free?
You obviously haven't downloaded the sarcasm app. That can be downloaded at www.kissmyberry.com
Actually, that was just a simple bit of fun. I don't put a price that low on what makes me happy, and with as much as I do, I think 5G is far too low.
I'm glad you seem to have some clue about intelligence, and if I asked your opinion, I might place a value on that, but the ha'penny was made obsolete many decades ago.
Now, if that was giving up my Curve for a week for 5G, I could go for that. But not permanently. Sorry.
