Liberal influences in media and schools along with rampant divorce and the decrease of parental responsibility.

I thought it was a pretty well known fact that most public institutions and the majority of colleges and universities have a rather heavy liberal bias. Social issues, environmental issues, economic issues, and so forth.

The school system used to try to teach kids how to think. These days, they seem to prefer teaching them what to think.

    My thoughts exactly Sandy.
    UCLA (a school)
Teachers Unions (donate tons of money to the Democratic party)
Remember that school in California that made the kids go home for wearing an Amrican Flag shirt on May 5th? I can find a link if not.
Personal experience: I had an English class in college where we were given extra credit to write protest letters to Pres Bush over the Iraq war. But it had to be a protest letter.

Not to mention a weak curriculum and fear of adapting better teaching techniques. Thank goodness some schools here are quietly, and successfully, implementing new ways of teaching and inspiring young minds. And it works because it is presented without political, religious or socioeconomic agenda.
