The only things Star Wars and Star Trek have in common are (a) the word "star"
and (b) the total character count in the title you godless commie heathen.

There is ONE other thing that they have in common AG, they are both Science fiction...
Actually had a long discussion with my friends about this very topic as relates to how to show future offspring the SW movies (yes, I know, insanely geeky, shut up). My preferred order is 1, 2, 4, 5, 3, 6 (though admittedly this is intended for kids' first viewings and thus the crappier bits of 1 and 2 will be less jarring or off-putting to them).

While I did not like 1, 2, and 3 as much as the original trilogy, we have to remember, those of us that loooooved the original trilogy.....how old were we when we saw them? We were kids, or at least many of us. Teens. Etc. The same relative age for which Lucas was targeting the 1, 2, and 3 films with today's audience. I bet if I was 13 again, I would really enjoy the prequels.
Of 1, 2, 3, only 3 is worth while, 1 and 2 are junk, but 3 has a LITTLE redeeming value, but not much. There's a South Park episode, where the boys are traumatized because one of their "friends" got raped. Turns out the "friend" was Indiana Jones and the "rapists were Lucas & Spielberg. That pretty much sums up, 1, 2 and 3, also.

the BEST scene in The matrix is undoubtedly the "lobby scene". when Neo walks into the lobby (when the camera is a close-up of his rad a$$ boots) just turn your volume up! waay up!! you'll thank me later!!!

Since you've never seen any of them, just watch them in sequence - 1,2,3,4,5,6.
Opinions vary greatly on which ones are the best, but it doesn't matter. The story goes in order, so I'd recommend watching them that way to someone new.
