Hey, so I just got my Z10 a couple of weeks ago on a 24 month O2 contract.

My question is this:
Is my contract tied to my sim only, or also my phone?

For example, could I trade my BlackBerry z10 for another phone out there that can accept this same size sim and my monthly contract would continue as normal?

In theory, I could stay with my current contract of unlimited calls/texts +1GB data while paying the same rate every month and trade my phone for another if possible for these 2 years?
Am I right in thinking that, or is there something I've missed?

You can sell it, trade it, brick it. Do what you want with it but still pay the monthly fee.

If you sell it to someone they have no guarantee as it is in your name, tied to your contract. They can ask you to fix it or get it fixed within one year within warranty and you should be nice enough to do that.

But bottom line is, no you dont have to keep the same phone ie i was on an iphone contract with a 3gs and sold it for an htc and still had my iPhone plan. Unlimited data, texts and minutes.

I haven't gotten insurance on this phone though and o2 said if it's damaged or needs replacing I have to pay like 600 so does that mean there is no guarantee on it?

There is a manufacturers warranty on all electronic products for a year. So any failure in the device apart from water damage or plain dropping it they will fix.
