'Operation: Leave New York' is in its planning stages now. Hoping to leave this city within 12-18 months. Tired of the people, crowds, traffic, smell, noise, and day-to-day.
Can't find many reasons to justify staying in this city with exorbitant rent for tiny places in a 110-year-old four-story walkup slapped in the middle of a terrible neighborhood.

PEACE!
Lol I felt the same way a few years ago and moved my family to NC. Though the cost of living is cheaper and there's more space, there's not much to do except watch the grass grow. We are planning to return to the Northeast within the next 12-18 months. I need to be closer to the action. I miss bodegas, 24 hr transportation, people who mind their own business, shopping, food variety, and the overall diversity NYC offers. Best wishes with 'Operation: Leave New York" but be sure your ready to put the things you love about NY behind you cuz there's truly no other place like the Big Apple. I like NC but I LOVE NY. Good Luck!

We had a similar situation years ago. It was our third visit to ATL, one week vacation, and we started looking at apartments. Back in NY after that week, we were in midtown for a friend's gallery showing of his art work. A group of us decided to hang out afterwards. We drove down to a restaurant, Mecca, off Houston. As soon as I stepped outta the car, the vibe, the people and just how live the block was, was like no where I've ever been. I turned to my wife and said, "baby, we aint leaving NY".
That's was over 10 years ago, so I know exactly what you mean sincerej. We still here. After work today, I'm gonna be somewhere in Harlem, SOHO or the village. New York, New York, the capital of the world

"My bags are packed, I'm ready to go". Eventhough a bit more than an hour north of city and living in beautiful area, this State makes it virtually impossible to have a decent quality of life due to the cost of living.
