Sometimes when I'm working and I hear my berry go off, I tell myself to check it later because I'm in the middle of something. However, I can't ever do that, it drives me nuts not checking it knowing that something came in so I end up checking it. Has anyone tried not checking their bb when they know that a message arrived and how long can you wait?

The only time I wait is if I'm talking with someone and don't want to be rude. (sometimes not even then)

In my line of work sometimes I have no choice but to wait until I get done. There has been times when I got so busy and forgot that I had a message waiting. The longest I've ever went was about an hour and 15 minutes.

I purposefully leave it in "Quiet" mode at work so I can meet with clients without being rude, but in between clients, the first thing I do is look for that "little red light!"

If I'm not in a meeting, I don't wait. If I'm in a meeting or actually doing something, I check it when I get done or take a break.

Many times when email comes in I would already have the BB in hand so I would check it right away.
Longest is maybe 4-5hrs because I usually can't check BB during Lab time for a Course am doing.

I can't stand seeing that light flashing and not checking it immediately. If I am in a meeting, I still try to sneak a peak.

I do believe the purpose of ANY cellular phone is to be able to be reached at any time...therefore I have absolutely no shame when I say I never wait after I see that red light flash

Maybe 5 minutes. That flashing light just can't be ignored. If I'm in the middle of looking at something else on the BlackBerry I have to switch applications to look at the spam I just received (or whatever it is that just came in).

My BB pinged during sex....... Man that had to be the hardest decision ive ever made in my life. Hope the old lady understood when i reached over to check it that it hurt me too. She never brought it up. Maybe its because she has a pearl and understood my addiction. ineed help

I was just thinking about this same topic, once I know something came in it almost kills me to ignore it. The longest I maybe able to hold out is about 30 seconds. I hate when a message come in and after I check it my phone is still flashing red. I feel like a dog chasing its tell as I'm checking every message folder/app

Unless I'm talking with someone face to face, on the phone, or in a meeting where I can't go stealth to sneak a peek, I usually check right away. Replying to the email...now that's a whole 'nother question...
