So sorry to hear that.. I know how it feels . I get them bad. I had it yesterday for an hr. I was on the phone with my friend and he was so mad
He kept telling me to try these...
Drink a lot of water. (cold)
Hold ur nose and drink water.
    Get someone to scare you.
Put your chin against your chest.
    Hold your breath.
When you feel it coming keep swallowing.
    Good Luck!!

I usually try to take 10 slow deep breaths. I concentrate on the breathing in and out. Try to clear my mind of everything else and just breathe.

I hope you find relief soon, I hate hiccups! They hurt when I get them!!

SF is right...the hiccups is muscle twitch in the throat region...holding your breath as long as possible will work...lack of oxygen shuts of unnecessary muscle actions first...hiccups will be history

This is the only thing that works for me. When I get the hiccups, they can last hours....to the point of being painful. The peanut butter is the only thing that I've found to work and it works instantly for me.

I know this sounds wierd but it works every time. Put a fork in a glass of water and drink while holding or pushing the fork away from your nose. It works for my kids too...

    Told you it was wierd!

Take a spoon full of sugar and wash it down with a glass of water. It always works and it is less dangerous than holding your breath for 5 minutes. LOL!

    This one actually works!!!!:

okay, even if you arent a smoker..find a family member or someone who is..
    alright..
get them to light a cig up
then inhale the smoke thats coming off of it.
    through your mouth..not nose.
kinda like secondhand smoke...but get closer.
    it really works.
thats what i do everyyytime i get the hiccups
    :]

Drinking a lot of water at one time usually helps me.
About 9 or 10 gulps in a row.
