Ahh moved! I was wondering when that might be done...too entertaining to kill, but not necessarily in the "General Information" genre any longer, that boat sailed long ago

Offensive Post by Site Admins
I agree with the OP. The title should have read "The ability to hide files/pictures.....". Very poor taste. However, Crackberry does have an edge to it, and if you have been around here long enough, that post should not have surprised you.
More importantly, what is troubling is the lack of OS features from OS7 to BB10. They did not take the best of BB and put it on QNX - they threw all the good stuff out the window.

The only shame is that the site mods haven't commented on this thread. It was moved to this backwater forum in an attempt to make it go quietly away and it likely will.
Was it a triumph for "free speech"? That implies that there was some type of battle here. There wasn't. Free speech was never in question so put your victory speeches away for now. I was free to say how I felt, and people here were free to say their piece in whatever manner they wished. I actually respect the alternative point of view and remain open to convincing, logical and equally respectful replies. There were a few posts that has at least one of those three criteria going for them, so I actually read through those. Anything else gets put in the bit bucket since I actually have a life beyond CrackBerry.
I received a lot of thanks on this thread so clearly there are a number of people who feel the same way that I do. I expected a higher level of decorum around the discussion but it is what it is.chronic BlackBerry addict and abuser

Amazing the amount of indignation that has been expressed over the OPs post. It's been fascinating reading the replies. Even saw some accusations of "censorship" which I thought were especially humorous considering the tone of the OP and the definition of word. Aside from the picture, which I thought was in poor taste, the most offensive thing about the post was the assumption that hiding porn was the primary use for the feature. For some, even many, that may be it's primary use but I doubt that is the purpose Blackberry intended when it was developed. Were I the OP, I would have contacted the mods privately to express my opinion and avoided all the kneejerk reactions and responses. The point I believe the OP was trying to make is that it wasn't necessary to showcase the feature as a way to hide porn when that is a subject that is offensive to some. I can imagine some scenarios that would upset others as well. The point is that we all have things that we may find offensive but when the respectful expression of a contrary opinion is offensive that is when we are truly on our way to censorship.
