Firefox 3.1 Beta
Ok as some of you may know when Google launched Chrome I made a thread about the Browser. I loved it, and still do. I actually ditched FF 3.0 for GC, but I will tell you that Firefox 3.1 Beta ROCKS!!! And is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY the FASTEST browser available. Now it is beta and when you download it theres a fact sheet that explains known bugs. But it's awesome. You can download it here--> Firefox web browser | International versions: Get Firefox in your language
Now the browser doesn't come with it's fastest Javascript enabled. You must do this yourself. So heres what you do to make it kick as $--> In the tool bar type about:config then press enter.
then type javascript.options.jit.content into the filter.
then Double-click on the preference listed to change the boolean setting from "false" to "true." After that close the window and you will now have the fastest browser available.

I'll have to see if they have that in Portable Apps. I like to run my beta FF on my thumb drive.

Ok heres a speed test using IE, FF 3.0, Chrome and FF 3.1--->
I then put both browsers, and some others, to the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark test. The results? Last place went to IE 7 with 59,694.3 milliseconds; Firefox 3.03 came in third with 11,249.1 milliseconds; Chrome came in second with a zippy 3,621.8 milliseconds, and Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 easily took first prize with 2,596.4 milliseconds.
You can see FF 3.1 is the fastest. I'm ready for Gold Code. - 10-15-2008, 12:05 PM #11

FF 3.1 seems to take longer to initially open than Chrome.

I would never use anything but Firefox. I used to develop web apps and FF is the only fully compliant browser that renders pages the way they're supposed to be.
