I want to as a sociological experiment. It will prove to people how stupid it is to judge someone by what phone they use.

Plus I'm finding myself unable to focus. So being disconnected may do me well.

If I could find the charger for it, I would have switched back to my Moto V60 a while ago. I've wanted to use it for nights out where I know I won't need a smartphone. Favourite phone of ever!

I'm not tempted because I depend on my phone service package for my internet. Going back to the Bold from time to time might happen, tho!

Yeah why not, phones are quite cheap (overall) these days, other day in the UK I went to buy a sim and it came with a free phone lol (alcatel but still).

I think there are still some people who use flip phones for various reasons, and think you should always use what works for you and personally sometimes I like to switch it up

It's good to have something you know you can rely on r.e battery life etc.

Also if you're talking nights out its a great conversation starter, unless you're black or something, then it will just be all the 'are you a drug dealer' tropes you'll have heard 1000 times.

I'd get a flip phone strictly for comms and relegate my smartphone to being an entertainment device.

You'd think caring so much about what others think about your phone is equally stupid.

I have a Motorola Tundra I use sometimes. Makes you realize how rarely you actually talk on the phone.

I think of roughing it as using 9900 or 9700.

I had to use a flip phone for 4 days a couple weeks ago when my main phone quit charging and I didn't have a backup. It was painful.

I still miss my Motorola v635... and just the other day my daughter said she wanted to get a pink razr... I think she would miss her instagram and snapchat etc more than she realizes, but it was an interesting and unexpected comment!

Yeah, I consider switching back a lot.

I'm not the biggest fan of people, of always being connected. I like disconnecting and having solitude. Turning down the noise, easing the hues, such like that; and quieting all the other overloading excesses of society. Smartphones can make attaining solace difficult, sometimes.

While you guys want to switch to old flip phones, I am patiently waiting for the day that someone invents a flip smartphone.

When that bottom one came out, I believe it was called the Style, it was a Sprint exclusive, and I was locked in a 2 year contract elsewhere. Otherwise I would have.

As smartphones increasingly become surveillance devices which monitor the person who carries them it is a legitimate question. The biggest problem is that most lack a qwerty keyboard which makes sending and replying to text messages a real problem.

Back in the day, a lot of people could tap out a message in t9 as d fast as they can wield a virtual today. Well, almost.

I had a BlackBerry Style. Loved it. I think about a flip phone everytime I pocket dial. I do like the feel of a genuine leather sleeve on my BlackBerry Passport tho.
