    you caught me....no just kidding.

I second this. I've seen lots of texters get in a few near accidents because their eyes were down. I've got two babies in the car and I am constantly watching what other drivers are doing.

I know its hard to see that little red flash going off and not reach for it...but its not worth it- Wait for a light or pull over...
    please

This is a true story - I was walking to the neighbors house to bring my son home. Walking along and texting - bam - right into a tree.
Obviously, if I can't walk and text, I certainly can't drive and text

I second this, altho I am sometimes guilty of "some" texting or PINning - mostly while at stoplights, etc. I've had some very near misses, which keeps me "keeping it real".

No offense taken because once I figured out that I wasn't hurt I had to laugh to.
Of course, I also had to look around to see who witnessed me making a fool of myself!

I confess to doing this. BUTTT I usually do it in L.A traffic . If any of you live out here, you KNOW how the 405 is from 5-6 p, (it's a parking lot, for those of you not familiar with it)

I find myself cracking and driving all the time. I don't feel normal unless I'm multi-tasking. In california Starting on 08 it will be illegal to text or use your cell phone while driving. 25 dollar fine for the first offence and it goes up from there. .

    Oh my goodness.

I'm a distance runner, and I use the streets around the city to gague my distances (1 city block around here = 1 mile) so I run in the bike lanes which run parallel to the streets instead of the sidewalks which wind...

So I'm running along the other day, somewhere around mile 8, and I see this car coming towards me that just looked as if it wasn't driving straight. I thought initially that maybe I was running out into the street, tired and swerving. I adjusted myself and got closer to the curb and I look up and the car is headed right towards me. I use every ounce of energy I have at this point to dart onto the sidewalk and as far away from the street as I can as I watch this teenage girl drive by and strike the curb where I was running just moments before...TEXTING!!!

She pulled over into a parking lot and she was terrified. because she had knicked her rim...I proceeded to jog over and remind her never to text and drive again...not only is it illegal...she could have killed me!!!

    Today, I'm alive...cool as a fan
But I hate seeing people driving and texting!

Yeah, long story, but that's my personal experience!

That girl is lucky the only thing that she hit was the curb.

My tree story is funny but in reality, texting and driving is dangerous.
Here in Phoenix we have had 2 well documented cases of driving and texting being the cause of fatal car accidents.

I admit to texting in the car, but only when I am pulled over in a parking lot or side street.
I also have a 9 year old co-pilot who is only to happy to text for me!
