I have 6822 SMS. I don't delete any. I often find myself searching old messages so I am glad I don't delete them. I do have it setup to delete every 60 days though and sometimes I wish I had an old message that is gone. And yes I know you can save messages, but when you are just doing a random search the message isn't often saved.
Backing up takes maybe 5 seconds longer than backing up my company phone which has 0 [and 1/5th of the contacts and 1/3rd of the calendar events and far less email].
I delete regularly but am interested in finding out how many you can get the phone to hold. After reading through the threads I also agree that no one seemed to be bashing you, just very interested in why you were saving so many messages. You didn't reveal until a few threads that you were doing it figure out how many you could collect.
Last month was 1300 sent, 1400 received.
Ok I just did the math and if I kept all the ones from when I first got this phone its be at approx. 87000. But, I learned to delete prior when I'd go see my boyfriend because he was jealous and would go through all of them and ask me what all of them really meant. Anyway right now I have 2804 haha
