- Ok long story short I am installing F.E.A.R. on my external hard drive. I installed it at a friends house (on my external) just to mess around for a couple days and I planned on uninstalling it and reinstalling it on my external when I got back to my computer (because it uses registry files on C: drive like many games and programs). When I got back to my computer I found that the uninstall file won't work. So I tried clicking the install file hoping it would prompt me to uninstall first (or just create registry entries on my computer). Anyways, the Data Execution Prevention keeps blocking it. The control panel method of turning it off is greyed out so I tried using the command prompt line bcdedit.exe/set {current} nx AlwaysOff. It tells me that the operation was successful, but DEP continues to block the install file.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
