ok so today is the Super Bowl, where LB considers one of the dumbest holidays...it's actually NOT a holiday as he says. But i am making chili and bringing some dessert over to my dad's later in the day

NOW... it's come to my attention that I said Valentine's Day was the dumbest holiday ever. (or something to that effect).

When I said that I didn't realize that the Super Bowl is on today....
This isn't necessarily a dumb day... in fact, it's not even really a holiday.
It's just a day for friends to get together,and enjoy a great game.
And, this is one of the best days of the year to see humans together in their natural habitat.

Now when I say "Natural," I mean in a comfortable setting.
You've got the BIG SCREEN TV with surround sound to really put you "in the game," plenty of seating for everyone and enough beer and munchies to last you through the week.

So, now you're getting excited as the first of the commercials come on, you can hear the beer cans starting to crack open and the munchies are just about to start getting passed around when suddenly.......
you're transported back in time to the Stone-Age, the people that first arrived have now turned into Animals.... Raving idi0ts, yelling at the moving images on the big screen having a one-on-one with the players as if they could really hear you. And just as the recreational substances and liquor and beer are giving a hint of coming on.....

AN ADVERTISEMENT!!!
The perfect time to get a grip on yourself and come back to the 21st Century.
BUT Noooooooo!

Now you're yelling at each OTHER about what a bunch of idi0t the players are when suddenly someone says:Shut Up! It's on!
And Silence.... you could hear a pin drop if only it dropped a little faster.
Then it's back to the Stone-Age .

All this just to watch a bunch of guys jumping on each other and patting each others @sses!
Not to mention, that you'll feel and look your best at work on Monday.

But I understand it's some kind of Human tradition.
It's just humans I don't understand.

But, not everyone is taken in by these games.
So, as in what has now become a LOST tradition for many years now. I do a bit of rearranging at my place.... And of course, there's plenty of everything to keep my guests happy and I play host to all the neglected woman for the day. Lot's of laughing, yellings and, ohhhhh, the screaming!!!!

And I do this as a special favor so you don't have to get interrupted.

I don't expect your thanks.. you don't even have to like me.. But at the end of the day ( or more probably sometime the next day) We have at least ONE thing in common.
We may have different ways of showing it but you have to admit, I'm one hellava team player!!

i am going to watch some super bowl replays from my team's past super bowls. It's something i do every super bowl sunday. and then i will go over to my dad's and watch some of the pre-game. By the time the game starts, i am ready to put my pajamas on and sit on my sofa.
