Thanksgiving (The short version)
Another fine holiday which is acknowledged for all the wrong reasons.

Today, it�s an excuse for relatives to pig out together and Party!
Considering what you were taught in school about Thanksgiving (which was a fairy tale) and considering you (generally speaking.. well, except for Jackd) believe most everything you were told,
Most of you ( still, generally speaking, except for Jackd) probably have no clue as to its real origin.
It may interest you (well maybe not jackd) to know that The Puritan Pilgrims that came to New England were not simply refugees nor (that�s cool for �or�) were they simple religious conservatives.
They were Political Revolutionaries!
Their mission: Take over the New World (of which they were guests) and cleanse it of whomever (that's whoever,jackd) didn't meet with their standards.

Starting with the Indians of the Wampanoag Tribe, who had been generous enough to share the harvest they had gathered with these guests, saving them from starving that particular winter..
began the annihilation of the entire Native Indian Nation, in typical �White Man� tradition:
�If you don�t understand it, KILL IT.
And in this case�. �We�ll Kill every last one of you savages (generally speaking, except for Jackd.. you Savage, you) if that�s what it takes to educate you. (Not you, jackd) We�ll let you live as an example to others.
This became a day of �Thanks� for the sharing. They just left out the killing part!

So, this Holiday should really be a day of Mourning for the senseless killings and for having to get together with relatives you don�t see the entire year for a reason!
But to be fair, Go do the Turkey thing (stay away from jackd�s Creole recipe) and perhaps have a few minutes of silence in respect for the Indian Nation who gave their lives so you could have a holiday.

Ya ever wonder how this holiday would have turned out if they had served Fish instead of Turkey???

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep...I tried counting backwards,I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned...the dark meat and white,but I fought the temptation with all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,the thought of a snack became infatuation.

So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door and gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes, stuffing with gravy, green beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round, till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky with a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie

But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees...

Happy eating to all -- pass the cranberries, please.

I just might deep fry a bird this weekend as I usually do over US Thanksgiving. Any excuse for deep fried Turkey

Why not just eat Crisco right out of the can or better yet just mainline it straight to the heart...... Get that cholesterol fix!!

( I like mine extra crispy but tender and juicy.)
