Just found a link to the Orange.za store in which the BlackBerry Passport is being sold for 9,080 ZAR

($790) with tax
($641) without tax

This is actually a really good price in South Africa compared to other flagship devices. It says that there will be a 25 day delay for delivery which means you can have it around 1st November.

I don't know when the device went live on the site but just makes me a little more excited to get my hands on one! I was also told a different price by Vodacom (ISP) that was slightly lower.

Good stuff. Telstra apparently won't get the Passport. Optus (biz dept.) will probably get it according to some rumors.

$789 AUD is the cheapest I could find here on shopbot.com.au

And that's a direct import price I guess, Aussie company shipping from Hongkong...

This is not a carrier price, it's an online Unlocked Passport version. Carrier prices are normally a little lower since they subsidise some of the price.

I meant carrier price outright. Usually higher than other shops or online, at least here in Oz.

Telstra sold the Q10 at launch in Australia, outright price was $800 flat, JB-Hifi had it for $649. Same shopping mall, a few shops away...

And the JB-Hifi guy gave me a discount. $630 was a very good price at launch... that won't happen anymore, JB don't stock BB anymore. :-(
