    Hello,

I was hoping to find an answer to my question here.

Here were I live, there are 2 telecom companies. And every time a customer wants to change from one company to the other one, they have to change their cellphone number. So what the telecom companies do is, when you call the old number, you will get a answer, that says the new number ! But if someone sends an SMS to the old number, you will not get any answer.

So my question is: Is it not possible, to get an automatic SMS answers, if a phone is turned of ??

I don't understand. I was under the impression that some form of regulation was passed where if you switch phone companies, you're able to transfer your number. When it first started back in 2003, it would take a day to full activate. It takes about 2 minutes now.

He seems to be from Europe (Vodafone as a carrier). Maybe they have different regulations there?

You might have to ask Vodafone users/customer service... We are spoiled here. Our numbers come with us as we switch carriers
