Default Is it worth it to Root a new Playbook?

Wondered what people's opinions on rooting are? I use to have a rooted playbook prior to OS 2 upgrade and I lost it. I purchased a new playbook that I haven't initialized and just trying to decide if its worth it to CFP and root it?

    Cons against Rooting
    - Annoying having to select a launcher for all android apps
    - Cant personally do CFW so won't have the most stable features of the most recent OS (eg. browser)
    - Most people don't have rooting so not a lot of community effort is put into rooting features
-Can't autoupgrade (eg. when Os 2.1 comes out)

    Pros
-Can download apks directly from Market place
    -Hulu
    -Expandable USB memory

What are people opinions about rooting? Is it worth it? Is there any feature that you use in your root playbook that makes you decide that its a must?

Depending on the person. Well I like to experiment, live with problems, find new things rather than having a solid o/s in my playbook. It actually gives me happiness than having the same interface everyday. Dont think these are probably true other than the browser. But some new apps dont work in old os. I will be trying to intergrate the browser after my final exams lol Life is exciting with root access

You can prevent the updating, update to 2.0.0.4xxx, root. Lurk around the forums.

Also, I think you can just replace the old browser with the new browser bar file...

Nothing to lose, everything to gain.

All the cons you mentioned can be overcome with root.

The playbook will be for my boys so don't want it to problematic for them. If it was just for me I would do it for sure. My 64gb can no longer have root

Xsacha how do you change it so that it doesn't make you choose from multiple launchers? How hard is it to make a stable custom firmware using the latest os?

After rooting, do all Android apps work on the playbook?

From my understanding rooting will not have any effect on which Android apps work and which do not..

How do you want to prevent a new playbook from updating? It will prompt for an update right on the first boot. If you don't update, you can't boot up.
Can someone please explain how to boot a new playbook w/o updating?

    This is how it works:
Use cfp to flash 4869 on.
    Then complete setup/update.
When update is complete and it asks to reboot, you use the special:
    cfp resetqnxosregion

It is then setup and on 4869.
