    Default Who has root?

Could someone who still has root perhaps PM me the logging scripts and generated files. If someone has spare rooted OS2 or OS1 playbooks, would like to buy one to do some data analysis and engineering work.

If you buy a new PlayBook you can prevent it from updating and root it.

All PBs ship with OS 2.0.0.8550 that have been manufactured after Feb'12 unless it was from some old inventory.

Oh right, I forgot about that! Sorry man.
Would the OS1 emulator be any help?

The emulator only has the browser and the help app is not available for x86. That is the reason I brought up the option for buying any OS1 or rooted OS2 box. Obtaining the logs would be helpful as a start.

Wow, after a week and not one offer to help, I would have anticipated that an easy question would have resulted in a quick response. I guess after hundreds of views of the thread, there is a lack of interest in helping a fellow member. If I had the ability to do the work myself, I certainly would but need equipment to do it. If there is someone that wants to step up to bat, please let me know.

I don't know of anyone who has root anymore. It's been a long time since the exploit was blocked.

Maybe the question should have been "Who had root, and how did you loose it?" I had lost it due to my laptop screen saver kicking in and being unable to unlock it fast enough before the restart timeout was over to finish the job...

I do still have root on my PB as I rooted it, protected from updating and then basically put it in the attic as it seemed there was no large development since others had lost it etc. forgive my ignorance, but I'm not quite sure what you're asking for, how to provide it or what you expect to gain from the data. I don't think the key to a new device root lies in a previous rooted device from what i've read from xsacha etc.

Been attempting to track down the nature of several problems reported already but not resolved. Looking for the level of detail and relevance due to the poor debugging and reporting as present on the device. I can PM you the details if you are willing to help.

sure feel free to contact me via PM. Can't guarantee an immediate reply, but I should be able to get some info from my device for ya presuming it still charges up =)

I got your PM, but it seems I'm unable to reply to it. I wasn't able to get the help to run it just froze, but I do have a full 2.0.4869 OS.

Edit: oops looks like PMs don't automatically get saved to your sent items unless that setting is checked in your profile. Enjoy the multiple and increasingly frustrated replies =)

Got them, sent another response. Will look into this to see what can be done.
