Something's Wierd
Hey Xsacha remember the time i told you I was going to try to downgrade my Playbook? Well. I just got home and I dug outt my USB cable for the playbook and connected it and on blackberry desktop manager it says my firmware version is 1.0 but my playbook looks normal as far as I can see If you need Screenshots I'd be more than happy to give them to you...

I dont think i really downgraded but simply Glitched... And yeah sure
So this is what i did I downloaded the 2.0.0.7111 and 4*** OS Updates for the playbook and i looked at all it's contents (my original aim was for a downgrade) and so I go get some choclate and eat it... then Ilooked at some of those files and saw this HUGE file that i thought was the OS. I changed the file extension to .rar and opened it (worked
) and then I looked into it and found a file called "Manifest" So I extracted it and changed it to .txt file opened it and saw that is said something about firmware version. So i took that info and related it to 7111 info and changed the text. I tried to install it but no luck. When I got home i took the USB cable and pluged it in and that's what i saw...

it updated and then booted up I typed In my password and I went to see if there was another Update... and there it was but this time 4 mb...!!! So now i have it connected to my computer and have found out that if we find some way to trick the Black Berry desktop to install any software... Lets try it

Guys, I have managed to downgrade to 7111, same as xsacha but this one isnt rootable too. Then I also tried to downgrade to 4869 which is possible to root and I did put firmaware into my playbook but because I was previously on 7971 I have that thingy installed which checks os firmaware at the boot and my playbook didnt boot up. So I had 4869 in my playbook but I couldnt turn it on. I had to go back to 7111. There is way to load any correct previous firmware but you are only able to boot 7111 or 7971. If we can get 4869 with NVRam flags then we can root. Thats all so far.
Also while 7111 my desktop manager showed me that my os is 1.0.8 bundle which made no sense. On playbook it showed 7111. I also tried Dingleberry and it said it has rooted my pb but then when I applied usb host script it said my pb isnt rooted. So that was strange too
But still 7111 and 7971 not possible to root

Yes, this is as far as you can get. I have also got to this stage, it does not help because 7111 is not rootable
