Rooting & USB Drive
Do I need to root my playbook in order for it to recognize an external hard drive/thumb drive?

newest os cannot be downgraded to be able to root. once updated its as is. which trust me, is just fine

Upgrade your Playbook to OS 10.0.9.388 and it can detect USB flash drives, keyboards and mice automatically.

So I found 2 wireless external hard drives - Seagate Satellite and the Kingston WiDrive. Looks like these will be good to store a ton of music, videos, and movies on and the PB will hopefully be able to connect to them.
