    Hi Guys,

I've rooted my Brand new playbook on day from when I got it. It was running on 1.0.8, upgraded to 4189 rooted this and then upgraded to 6149 and have had no problems. My root has been kept and I can still use the android market and install .bar files.

It makes it worthwhile as I kept getting nagged by notifications in the top left about a system update being available.

    Regards

The only problem I've had with .6149 is the background on the android launchers do not show it. Its just plain black.

So if I upgrade to 6149, I wont lose root? If not which way should I upgrade, from OTA or BBD?

^ you still keep your root, and as long as you've signed into android market, you'll keep that too (except for the previously mentioned black background of the android launcher). i used desktop manager, and you may need to redo the winscp steps of the android market installation, but it is working for me

I have my playbook rooted with version 4189, how do I upgrade to 6149 especially now that 7111 is out?
