Default Os 1.0.7.2670 (and I don't want to make a mistake)

Hi ... I just turned on a new playbook thinking that I would have to mess around with cfb in order to root the machine when, to my surprise, it booted up into 1.0.7.2670. I have been trying to use dingleberry to root the device (and having problems - no matter what I do, it doesn't show up as connected by usb. I am sure that I will figure this out, though) but I am hoping that someone can let me know what my steps are after a successful root ... Can I go all the way to the latest version of 2 or is there a barrier that I shouldn't cross if I want to maintain a successful root. I've seen some conflicting reports and I was wondering if anyone who has any experience with this could chime in.

    Thanks.

The barrier you shouldn't cross is 2.0.0.7971. If you flash 2.0.0.7971 or 2.0.1.358, you will permanently lose root.

Make sure you stay on 2.0.0.6149 or 2.0.0.4869 if you want root.

Thanks for the reply, xsacha ... I appreciate it. I'm still struggling to get the 'book recognized when it's connected via usb - I might post again if I'm still struggling with this later today / tomorrow but I do appreciate the advice viz. where to "stop" my upgrade.

Xsacha, when you say permanent do you mean you've lost hope you'll find a way to exploit 7971+?

Dingleberry project has been terminated. Either it is impossible to hack past 7971 or something else prevented them from trying.
