My new pb
Hi
First sorry for my bad english.
I just come to buy a blackberry tablet 32GB.
The version of the os is 1.05
I don't want the tablet to upgrade to version 2.0.0.79.81
How can i upgrade it (because each time i turn it on , i dont have other choice) to version 2.0.0.48.69 ?
i have the firmware , i took playbook_update_server, is it possible ? - 04-12-2012, 02:19 PM #2
the only thing i can think of is, if you download dingleberry(the jailbreaking tool) it lets ypu downgrade your software to an older version of 2.0 AND i think 1.8. i am not sure if it still lets you 'downgrade' to 1.8 but if it does; you should use this downgrading tool as an updating tool to bypass 2.0 ota update rim issues. does that make sense?
EDIT: i saw you wanted to go to 2.0.48.69, not 1.8 my bad. you can find how to use dingleberry here: http://crackberry.com/dingleberry-updated-31 and here is how to use dingleberry step by step http://crackberry.com/rooting-your-b...dingleberry-3x
in the picture on the first link i included it shows 2.0.4869 so it looks like you would be in luck if you can use this downgrader as an upgrader in your case. does that make sense?Last edited by ddlax22; 04-12-2012 at 02:26 PM.

thank you for your answer.
it doesn't work , can't put on the developper mode on the tablet
dingberry doesn't detect the tablet - 04-12-2012, 06:19 PM #4
You have to use playbook_update_server and set it up so your playbook connects to this instead of the official blackberry server.
Set up on your router a redirect which redirects the address of the blackberry server to your local network ip or computer - 04-12-2012, 08:31 PM #5
Or... Since Dingle Berry cant upgrade to that version... download the 4876 nor what ever it was file from playbookelite (search on google and nav to downloads and get it) then extract it's contents and switch dev mode on... get BBDP Installer... I think it's called that download it and run it locate the files you extracted and install everyone of them... You're done

Download the firmware off internet.
Stick it in Custom folder.
Use Dingleberry to flash it.
Yes, you can enable Developer Mode on that firmware. Try again

Actually you shouldn't use Dingleberry because, like BDM, it will not work with the 'setup' variable not being set yet.
You need to use 'cfp' to flash a new Playbook (to avoid auto-update). - 04-19-2012, 04:51 PM #9

Everyone, a big thanks for all the info! But I have to ask, has anyone actually had any luck avoiding the auto-update on first boot after a flash?
I've been able to flash any bundle of the OS I want but no dice avoiding the auto-update. Heck, when using some commands, cfp has even been teasing me, closing the first-run app, waiting 2 seconds and then rebooting the PlayBook. Thanks!
