How to: Install Android Market [Dead Simple]
Hey guys. There is a bunch of tutorials on how to install Android Market and a lot of them are long-winded and do unnecessary tasks.
So here it is. Dead simple.
You can jump in to whichever step you are currently at. If you're already rooted, just jump to step #4, for example.
> I haven't got Dingleberry:
1) Get the latest Dingleberry (currently v3.3.3) for your OS. Windows, Linux and Mac are supported.
> I'm not on 2.0.0.4869:
2) In Dingleberry, click on 'Firmware'. Then choose 2.0.0.4869 and Full. Click Download bar. When this is done, click Update.
> I'm not rooted:
3) In Dingleberry, click 'Dingle' (bottom of main page). You should get confirmation that "You are Dingled!" on your Playbook.
> I haven't installed Android Market:
4) Download the Android Market Script. In Dingleberry, click 'Install / SSH'. In the Installer section, choose File and select the market.script you just downloaded.
You should now be rooted on 2.0.0.4869 and have an Android Launcher and Android Market installed. Congratulations.

Ok let me get this straight,I should install the full 2.007111 then downgrade the core os to 2.004867, root , then run the market script to work propery? Is this the right sequence ,Can someone explain where I am going wrong?

No, definitely not. You need full 4869.
It doesn't matter which firmware you 'come from', previous firmware files are wiped when you 'Update' anyway. - 02-05-2012, 11:15 AM

Where does it say market is installed? Did it also say launcher is installed?

does a launcher come with the dingleberry process now? i always pre installed a launcher before dingling, ran that launcher while on full 4869, rooted, then updated to 6149

This indicates that the script did not actually run.
ADWLauncher Ex is installed in market.script.
If ADWLauncher doesn't appear, it means it unzipped the Launcher.bar but didn't run the script. This usually means 1) malformed script or 2) older Dingleberry. - 02-05-2012, 04:36 PM #23
Running the market.script disables my ability to run launchers on 4869. I have to reinstall the bars to be able to use android again. ADW is never installed. Once in android when I click market I just get the grey bars.
Thanks for all you have done on this xsacha. - 02-05-2012, 04:53 PM

OK, I'm going to put up a new version (v3.3.3) that does more error checking.
For comparison, this is what i get when i run market.script on 3.3.2:
