Can I wipe BBID from a rooted playbook without updating OS?
I have a rooted 16GB playbook that I am looking to sell (I just got a 64GB and I am happy with it without the root). I can easily wipe the whole thing and have it ready for someone to update to latest OS, but thought it might be more useful for someone who was interested inn playing around with a rooted PB. I don't want to sell it with all my personal information/bbid on it though. So... is there a way for me to clean it of all my personal info but maintain the root access?
Thanks.

IMO, unless you have a specific user who only wants a rooted PB, there is a better chance to sell a wiped tablet.
FYI, in the US, the new price for a 16gb PB is $200 (BestBuy and RadioShack) - 05-30-2012, 05:19 PM

I thought the rooted PB might be of more value to someone, but unless I can figure out a way to get my BBID off the phone and keep the root, it will turn into a regular wiped PB soon.
I'm in Toronto. I haven't checked lately, but I think they are going for $200 here too. - 05-30-2012, 09:20 PM #4
Yes you can wipe a BBID if you are rooted. However, you would need to use the same method to add a new BBID to the device. This would probably be too difficult for whoever you give the device to. If they can add their own BBID they would likely be able to root anyway.
