You're already on the newest root-friendly OS. No one ever released any custom update method for users with rooted PBs. I think that was going to be in DingleBerry 4.0, but it never got released because xsacha upgraded his PB to 18.104.22.16811 or whatever the first OS was that blocked downgrading, and had no way of getting back so was stuck without root, and therefore couldn't finish creating the custom update procedure. AFAIK, there is no real info about how one would go about maintaining root through an update that is publicly available.

I'm getting a new Playbook soon and hope to develop an update method which will allow you to keep root on latest OS (Dingleberry 4.0).
This will only work if you are already rooted.
I almost had it before but messed up. I should be able to get it right this time. Hard to test it.

Pictures of rooting process:

And then I installed 6149 over the top.
Now I'm creating a 1032.bin image (1088 is apparently buggy?)

Working on it:

That was easy to fix.
I'm up to this one now:
BB-MASS-native: mass_registerCallbacks() Process 18526353 (CandyIsland.bin) terminated SIGSEGV code=2 fltno=11 ip=7838b318(/base/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.13@_ZN9__gnu_cxx18__exchange_and_addEPVii+0x40) mapaddr=000ab318. ref=00000000 Memory fault (core dumped)
Looks like the change is related to std::string

It's OK. I figured out the error.
I also figured out a way to run these 2.1 apps back on old 4869/6149. Check out the other thread
Anyone here with a rooted PB?

I'm already doing this.
I haven't removed 4869/6149 yet though.
