why don't we have whats app or liveprofile or any data using messaging apps for the playbook?

Android LiveProfile works on beta 2.0. It gets very confused if you have it installed on your phone too though; keeps saying you're logged in somewhere else. After using it for a while, i realize why RIM us having so much difficulty with a single ID and BBM. LiveProfile has no clue how to handle it.

No need to root your tablet. Just side-load Whatsapp.bar.
