VLC running on Playbook?

I have been reading until my eyes are bleeding. Has anyone had any success in getting VLC to work? I have it installed on both my Playbook and my PC. In my Playbook it says it needs wifi turned on. It is. I try the auto config in VLC and I also try manual. http://127.0.0.1:8080/request/status/xml returns information. VLC is indeed listening to port 8080. It just seems I cant get Playbook in to the port. Wifi is running fine on my playbook. Any ideas? Yes I have rebooted everything.

This sounds more like VLC Direct than actual VLC.

My understanding is that the bug is there because it's not a BB app...its a converted Android app, and the do have some bugs.

Someone please correct me if this is not the case.
