If you are a Shaw subscriber you can log in to your account online and watch movies and HBO programing on your Playbook. I know it's not perfect but it's better than nothing.

HD Movies on Demand with Shaw VOD

I have a @shaw.ca email address, and can log into their webmail no problem...

but when I go to HD Movies on Demand with Shaw VOD and try and log in, it seems like it loads but then just goes back to the login screen. No errors, no messages nothing.

any ideas?

Hmm......... i don't know what to tell ya. I tried it out three time on my computer and Playbook everything works fine on my end. I wish i had an answer for you.

I log in with my Customer Center ID if that helps.

we already have digital cable, Internet and phone all through shaw. Is there something else you need to make this work?

Well to watch the Movie Central / HBO stuff you need to have that package. The pay per view movies do require that ( i don't think ). I have the same with Shaw, cable, phone, internet. My cable package has almost everything on it except the Asian and French channels.

aaaaaaaaaah so I figured out what the problem is! It is not available in my area until April 2nd!

did an online chat with a rep to figure out why I was getting kicked out after logging in...and this is why! Thats ok have something else to look forward too!

RogersOnDemand.com works for free content as well, however, they seem to have blocked access to subscribed content when you log in (aka HBO, etc). Sucks...

Telus' "Optik on the Go" has apps for android/iphone as well as a website Optik on the Go , but i cant sign in, it keeps saying incorrect password. I wonder if Telus will support the Playbook as they have the remote recording smart phone app.

That just redirects you to the RogersOnDemand site which seems to block PlayBook access to subscribed content. Free shows work fine.

Is that just Rogers that is blocking ? All my subscriptions like Movie Central and HBO work. Could you explain it a little more ? I will test other stuff out on Shaw.

Is HBOgo working now (I'm in the US)? It wouldn't stream right for me before. I could watch a choppy 30 seconds before it totally crapped out.
