Stick Tennis
Really digging the Stick Tennis. Pissing me off though that I cannot beat the last guy Willy Beacher! My best playing him is on 2-6...... All the others I've destroyed 6-love.... How's everyone else doing against Willy ?
Also, did anyone notice the plume of gas coming from the player in the startup splash?

I've beaten everybody else, but 3-6 against him... Great game!

Re: Stick Tennis
Willy Beacher is a monster. LOL
The best I've managed is 4-6, and that's in about fifty tries. His aces are ridiculous, there's honestly no way I can see to return them. Other than that it's just focus and timing. If your mind wanders even a little you'll find yourself down in a game 0-40. - 10-08-2012, 03:48 PM #5
Re: Stick Tennis
How do you return when he comes to the net? You try playing down his short side and he fires it almost parallel to the net, swiping up does nothing but hand him an easy smash...

Re: Stick Tennis
I am playing the grand slams, and just beat the king of clay Nadal with Lopez 7-5.
I am getting the error when I try to purchase the the remainder of the slams,so I take the lower seed and go after the top seeds. Knocked off Nadal at the French and Federer at the Australian with Monfils. Very challenging and fun.
Great game, and please take my money I want to purchase the remaining rounds. - 10-09-2012, 09:21 PM

Re: Stick Tennis
Just beat Willy Beacher 7-6 in a tie break! Not pretty, but will take it.... I swear it took 200 times to finally win a match against him.

Re: Stick Tennis
I have beat Beacher before but it took probably around 75 matches. It's nearly impossible to break his serve. Great game though.
I have asked on other conversations, but has anyone managed to buy additional levels in the game? My in-app purchases never get authorized, get the same error everyone else does. It make me feel like this -

Re: Stick Tennis
3-6 is my best lol, blink and the game's over lol.
I'm about to venture out to the courts right now to see if I can finally vanquish him. - 10-10-2012, 05:26 PM #14

Re: Stick Tennis
I lost 6-7... 3-7 in the tiebreaker. What have you noticed works for you? I've been serving better which helps to hold, and play drop shots to get an easy pass but sometimes when he is at the net nothing gets by...

IMG_00000035.jpg6-0 against WILLY! I'll edit and upload a pic, just for verification. It took me a LONG TIME but I've finally beat everyone 6-0. Have to make good use of the drop shot and then stroking the forehand/backhand down the line when he tries an cross court shot.
Good luck! It's been my favorite game on the PlayBook.Last edited by jweihrauch; 10-12-2012 at 10:42 AM. Reason: Pic Upload

Re: Stick Tennis
The lack of instructions bugs me as well. So far my best result is two 6-7 tie break losses against Willie. In between he has crushed me a few (too many) times.

I find that if I make a long diagonal swipe up (right or left) the ball will land closer to the baseline assuming you have not hit it too early or late. This will force Willie to stay back at the baseline. Once he does come to the net it is tough to get things by him. In my experience the only way to get things by him at the net is to either go down the line, or to hit a drop shot. If he is centered perfectly at the net then your shot down the line may not get by him, hence the need for a return drop shot. After hitting the return drop shot he will hit another drop shot back, and depending on his position you can then hit a harder shot down the line.
To hit a drop shot swipe down.
To hit the ball harder, swipe faster. I find this works nicely on cross court shots.
On his serve, I find that if you tap as soon as the ball hits your side of the box, and then quickly swipe after you tap in the direction you want the ball to go that will help play his serve. I always try to return cross court.
Does anyone else have any other tips? - 10-18-2012, 11:06 PM #22
Re: Stick Tennis
Finally beat Beacher 6-1. I had a few close losses in tie breaks. Figuring out his serve and when to use the drop shot was the real key for me. Anyway, here is the print screen.

Re: Stick Tennis
I get the error when I try to buy the next round in the slams. Is that same for everyone? I am in the UK. It's a shame. I'd like to play in the quarters.
So far I haven't beaten chris cross court yet. My best against her is 4-6. So it'll be a while before I beat Beacher! - 10-28-2012, 01:21 AM #25
Re: Stick Tennis
Ever since I posted my pics i still can't get him 6-0, gotten to 5-0 a ton of times but I always blow it and then just forfeit and have to go outside and get some fresh air before I punch someone's face in. Choke!! Choke!! Choke!! Choke!! Choke!!!!
