I posted this but can't remember where so I don't know what is the response. So here it is again:

Skype, a Microsoft product, is not free and I believe it is available for the Z10, but can it be loaded to the PB even if I am willing to subscribe to it?

Get a Nexus 7 2nd Gen. Seeing as the PB is a END of LIFE product. The app train will all but dry up soon enough. No apps or games have been coming out for it for months.

If you're looking for a solution to be able to call U.S. and Canadian numbers free of charge (voice only) over wifi no matter where you are, may I suggest Spare Phone? It's an Android app available on BlackBerry World for $3.

I used it to call family back in the U.S. from Thailand and Japan. Works great. It will also allow people to phone you with the number you get. You'll need to sign up for Google Voice and get the free phone number.

Try comwave ephone. Unlimited NA calling with a phone number.

Even a clearance Gen1 N7 Is great. Love my N7. Playbook is getting long in the tooth now sadly, I only use mine for games and YouTube. Playbook still has the best tablet speakers ever.

Can the Gen1 N7 do Skype video (ie. with a front facing camera? I thought it didn't have one.)

Especially since you can connect it to a HDTV through HDMI.

Really? If you ever do don't use the official cable, it's too short(5'). I got a nice one for half the price and double the length. In fact I got two. One for the main TV and one for the bedroom tv. You have to make sure that one end is a mini connector for the Playbook's HDMI port. Don't use one from Walmart either. Get it online from Newegg instead.

To be honest the playbook barely gets turned on. I still prefer watching videos on the pb over my nexus7

I use the AnDroid version of XBMC on my Minix Neo x5 TV Box (The x5 is also what I use to steam local media over DLNA as well) and my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Great for streaming movies and TV over the Internet like Netflix but free and better.

Thanks all. I wanted the video capability, not just free telephone conferencing. So maybe Nexus 7 to supplement my PB.
