Hi All,

We�ve been receiving a few complaints from users, stating that they are being asked to pay for the latest update (v1.0.5) of Currency Converter for PlayBook. We just want to make it clear that this update is NOT a paid one. This issue is only happening for those users who downloaded the app while it was free during the Christmas sale of December 2012.

We approached the folks at BlackBerry regarding this and they�ve replied saying that this is a known issue with the BlackBerry World. It seems that when a user downloads a paid app while it is free, they will be unable to update the app when it goes back to being a paid app. This is because such users will not have a Purchase record for the app. The only way to update the app is for users to uninstall the app, do a search for the application again (not within My World) and pay for the app. The support team at BlackBerry has assured us that they are working on resolving this issue as quickly as they can.

�Hello,

Thank you for your email. This is a known issue. Users who downloaded the application while it was listed as 'Free' will not have a Purchase Record for the application. Now that is it listed as Free, these users will be unable to update the application.

One workaround that works for some users is do uninstall the application, do a search for the application again (not within My World) and pay for the app. This will facilitate a download. We are working on resolving this problem in an upcoming update.�

To all the users who downloaded Currency Converter while it was free, we highly recommend not updating to v1.0.5 until this issue is resolved by BlackBerry. We will keep you all posted on this. Thanks for your patience.

P.S. The only change in v1.0.5 is that we�ve fixed a bug related to the Vietnamese (VND) currency conversion.
