PlayBook does not download images from native browser

My PlayBook uses OS2.1.0.1032 but I have noticed that the DOWNLOADS folder has disappeared from the list of folders in AIR file manager and although I click and save images and pdf when using the native browser, the item never appears in the download page of the browser and I cannot find the item by searching using AIR file manager.

Suspect that the new OS has deleted the DOWNLOADS folder and so the items are never saved from the browser.

Help please

That is weird. Have you tried the following:
1. Restart
2. a hard reset (three finger reset)
3. Backup -> wipe ->. Test -> restore

In Air Browser, look in misc/android and see if there is a download folder there.

Have you bothered to connect it to your computer and look for the files rather than rely on an app to tell you if the file exists?

Someone else recently mentioned the Bookmarks folder was also gone.

No because my PC has just died with a faulty hard drive so I really need my PlayBook to work correctly at the moment without a lot of b@@@@@ering about. And currently I can download nothing from the browser.

Tried 1 and 2 but with no PC cannot do 3

Can I add a downloads folder to the top level of the file tree without a PC?

I _THINK_ that the upper level folders canNOT be changed or new ones created. That's the MEDIA folder with the standard folders. I have no idea why some of them seem to have disappeared.

Managed to borrow a laptop and connect to PlayBook but there is no downloads folder and I cannot create a new folder called downloads into the DEVICE (or top folder).

The real problem is that the death of my PC has taken all my restore points with it and until they can be recovered I cannot try many of the options above.
Could I uninstall the browser and reinstall?

What alternate browsers are there for me to download and install, althought I have trie Dolphin in the past and found the BB Browser far better.

You can try Maxthon, which is another android browser in app world. Downloads don't go to the Downloads folder, but rather go into sdcard/MXBrowser/downloads
