    Default Playbook Apps

I have had my playbook for a couple of months and love it, but there are a few apps that I would like to see in the app store, like a solid handwriting tool that will also crossover to my torch 9860. So my question is how does one get into app writing, I have no prior programming experience but willing to learn.

First of all, I'd start with something a little simpler. Perhaps a nice picture viewer or paint program or something, just to get your feet wet.

If you want it to run on the Torch your best bet is probably to program it with BB WebWorks, which is more or less the BB version of PhoneGap. You program it in JavaScript with HTML5 and CSS. I'd recommend getting a (modern) beginners book on JavaScript programming with JQuery, and a book about PhoneGap.

Or if you want to go the AIR (= Flash, Flex) route, check out this thread:
