    have just purchased qPDF from App World which does that and more. Thats if the document allows modifications!

    1 dollar app in app world called pdf reader. It's not polished but at 1 dollar its worth it.

    The next question, can I paste into the bridged memo pad? I have not found a way to do this yet?

    If using BES then probably not.
    If using BIS then yes.
    Select text from PDF reader and tap on folder icon in popup menu to copy.
    In Memo pad (edit mode) press and hold until popup menu appears then select paste.
