I'm soooooo excited!!!
YES... Please and Thank-You!!!!
Perhaps your missing the point, what other app are you going to use to beat mix for the BBPB? DJPad? It's not even complete yet! Pacemaker device (PMD) was the leading mobile hardware solution for DJ's who wanted to take there music on the go and be able to mix anywhere. What I am seeing is the PMD coming to life as a PMA and it looks very close to what the original device looked like... As far as the technical stuff IDK. Jonas over at 100.mg who was the driving inspiration behind the original device at Tonium and has bought back the original intellectual property rights that he first owned. Since I could not afford the original PMD, I am so excited to be able to get this app and mix with my BBPB. This is what all the excitement is about. If this does not work for you, then go take a look at MixVibes' iPad app called CrossDJ. Hope this answers your questions about why all the excitement.

Added a video of the app:

Just looking at the UI, looks quite neat. Cant think of any PlayBook apps Ive got that look as smooth and fun to use.
Hope at least some devs will come over to make use of this.
Will be quite exciting in terms of apps for the phones.Intergalactic superhero... Powers stronger around a red sun... - 04-29-2012, 12:27 PM #38
WOW! This app looks great. Definitely hard to replace the control of real decks and a mixer but this will be incredibly fun to mess around with. Thanks for posting xsacha.
Particularly interested in seeing how the 'split audio' is handled. With only one 3.5mm jack I didn't realize this was even possible. But definitely essential for being able to cue up tracks before mixing. - 04-29-2012, 12:46 PM #39
I'm sorry, but since when does an app have to have frigging eye candy to be useful...oh never mind....I know.
It's not that we're excited over the looks of the app, but rather the functions of it. If it indeed is gesture heavy to interact with it like the video, it's going to be awesome. Small Buttons and knobs would be hard to press and turn. And just because it's a cascades app doesn't mean that it will be "visually stunning" cascades is just a framework to create uixLast edited by mikelcal; 04-29-2012 at 01:01 PM.

Thanks again xsacha! I have been looking forward to this app for a long time now, and these screenshots look awesome! I couldn't hear anything in your video though

This looks great. Very nice excited to buy this.
I wonder if they will be able to take advantage of the dual audio output. Use the headphone jack to cue up tracks and the hdmi jack to send the mix to the speakers.Boring signature. - 04-29-2012, 10:19 PM

By the way, the BPM during the song is provided at the top centre (near the song name / skip track).
The BPM isn't shown in the song selector yet though. Neither is the analytics. The idea is you'll be able to select song by BPM.
Clicking the 'sync' button syncs the two songs with BPM (so changes pitches).Developer of PPSSPP, ReQognise, Dingleberry, PB Connect, Sachup + Sachibar and other Qt apps. Porter of many opensource Qt apps. - 04-29-2012, 10:24 PM #49
