[new][native]crackberry forum app (beta testers needed)

Hi, i'm developing a Crackberry Forum Reader for the Playbook and BB10.

this is a NON-ANDROID app.

Features:
Keep Screen alive
Native UI
View Private messages

i need some beta testers who want to test the app on the playbook / dev alpha
Current Beta version; Beta 3

how to join the beta program:

I also like some feedback about the beta version

Web Works =/= native

EDIT: It does look quite nice in the screenshots though, and if I were the type to use such an app, you would probably be finding a PM from me quite soon. As it is, I'm not really, but still, kudos for creating an app that looks pretty good.

i know, the [native] should be changed in webworks, but it isnt an android version

i now actually visit the forum more ofter due to the app... and not just because i created the app, but because it now has a native-looking UI.

I like the app, needs slight improvement in terms of speed. Could also be easier to use. Also, most of the time, you have to press twice to open a category or a topic etc. Have yet to test but appears better and better each time I use it.

update:

i received some requests to change the font size. i'll add that to Beta 4.

I got a stupid question: Where is the back button to go back to the list of threads when you're done reading one?

OK, never mind. At first login I was directed at the Page just like it looked on the browser. So I closed the app and reopened and now I actually got the app running...sorry.

Very nice and thank you. Besides the usual tweaks that you are certainly going to make, I find the black layout hard on the eyes. Could we get options with that? Thanks again.

Um....it shuts my Playbook music player off when I open the app. It's a crime to have Tool (Opiate) abruptly cut off mid song in my house. Please fix!

I agree with that. Also I wish we could adjust the size of the fonts and perhaps make the threads bold when new posts have been added. Right now I can't tell when I'm following a thread if someone posted something new.
I really got used to the other CB Forums app, as that was easy to read for me.
But nevertheless I do like it and appreciate the effort.

Do you have the option; keep screen alive DISABLED ?
When enabled, it will play a (flash)video in the background, so it keeps the screen alive. (No other options yet that can do the same).

Edit; turn off Keep screen sliver in the options screen. That will fix it

Edit; only works when you turn on your music while the app is running. I might remove the keep screen alive option, or I'll look for a fix

i like it a lot, is there a way to make the text larger in the forums, maybe fill up the screen more on landscape ?

i also have to push twice on most buttons

i dont mind the white text and black bg,

buttons are cool but maybe a lil smaller or a way to hide them so we can have more screen space

thanks for making this app much faster so far than my pb browser

making the text langer is possible, and i'll add that option to the beta 4. button lagg, common problem. i can fix it.
fullscreen mode is also possible, might add it in beta 4, otherwise in the official version

So my apps just got approved in the Blackberry (app)world, i'll release the Crackberry app next (comming) weekend.

Hey Jeroen,

Getting back at my first findings.
-forum and messages are sometimes white (when you go HOME)
-forum and messages are black when hou navigate back by the path on top of the screen
-a lot of different use of collors in the menu's
- when entering a forum message you sometimes cant get rid of te bottom kenu bar while in landscape, you cant see the reply box then
- the useof different font types with the different menu's
- had some trouble logging in
- not possible to zoom
- music and movie player, so sound stops when entering bb forums beta
- buttons a bit laggy on the bottom
Pro
-like the way the screens slide over each other
- navigation is pretty smooth
- pages loading reallyfast
- scrolling goes super fast
-overall super trooper fast

I like it! Keep up the good work Jeroen.
I go nd test some more.

I fixed all the 'buggy' things you posted. Especially the musicplayer bug was very annoying.

I added a 'zoom' button in beta 4 (unreleased yet, I'll release it today)

Laggy backbutton is fixed

Loginscreen ; fixed

The replybox; just tap on it, and begin to type. It will automatically adjust to the screen and you can see what you're typing.
