For those of you looking at the PSP Vita, Sony has just announced that the following apps will be available on it: Facebook, foursquare, Skype and Twitter.

Funny how a portable gaming console, that costs less than the Playbook, will get Skype. And in the mean time, we still have no word whatsoever that Skype will ever be released on our tablet.

Oh well, at least I know one of my handhelds will be able to do it

The PSP has always had Skype integration.. not sure why this is a surprise. It would be more surprising had they NOT included it.

At that's true, but this is the first time that Skype will be able to be used with a camera on the PSP as existing units were relegated to voice only calls. There was also some concern, at least amongst the video gaming community, that with Microsoft's purchase of Skype, Sony would not be able to include it within their upcoming Vita - now this confirms that it will be available.
