Google Maps: revisited
maps.google.com
Google Maps used to just hang on "loading...". Since the update to 2.1.0.1314, I decided to revisit the site and was surprised to find that it works as expected, on all features. The "loading..." message pops on twice for second or so, but after that:
- panning around is fast
- map zoom works (though not pinch-to-zoom, zoom bar on side needs to be used)
- satellite and traffic works
- Street View works
- GPS works (make sure the browser's Settings/Permissions/Allow Websites to Access My Location is On; "Location cannot be determined" message if the GPS hasn't located you yet... just try again a minute later...)
- hiding the web address bar gives extra map space (i.e. resizing of the browser window works)
(Sorry if this has been reported before, but previous versions of the browser didn't work with Google Maps and I hadn't tried again until recently...)Thanked by 4:Bumble2000 (12-26-2012), David in Durham (12-27-2012), F2 (12-26-2012), ibpluto (12-27-2012)

Don't tell Google - they'll probably do something to kill it again!
