Dont we already have all these things on the FaceBook website? I can see FB 2.0 for my phone but why for the Playbook?
i can think of a few reasons, such as integration into the OS, a more intuitive interface, performance, and notifications. and it being a discrete app means i can have it up at the same time as the browser and not have to switch tabs.

Got it working on my phone now - not too much of a change as I've been using the beta versions for ages now - but the PB App I'm excited for, with some nice enhancements. Come on App World!!
I got 2.0 for PlayBook. Didn't get a notification, but opened App World and "My World" listed an update. Short version of the story: I'd recommend uninstalling the previous version before downloading the update.
Long version: The first time I did the update, it seemed like both versions were on my PlayBook, and it would open 1.0 since I couldn't see Places or Events added to the menu. I went into App World, and Facebook was listed twice. After deleting both and re-booting, I was able to download 2.0 and it works.
Not to be negative, but I can't use the check in function since my gps doesnt work.

Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Customer Support. We are pleased to assist you.
I have received your e-mail detailing some issues you have been experiencing with your BlackBerry PlayBook.
To begin, if you are sure that you are always connected to Wi-Fi when attempting to find your location when using the GPS, then this is definitely a known software issue that RIM is currently looking towards repairing with a future OS update.
The text below the video said it will be on App World within 24 hours.
Not sure why RIM would post a video before releasing the app.
it is in AppWorld, it just takes up to 24 hours for it to propagate the entire app world system. Some get it right off the bat, others get it 24 hours later. Nature of the beast, I suppose.
