Hey anyone (though xsacha can probably do it just fine) I got my hands on the free bb10 game "ice age village" .bar file. And wanted, out of curiosity, to install it to my playbook. I ended up with an error (am using google chrome playbook app manager) that it needs to run on bb10 only. That surprised me as I thought it'd install but just not work. The errors I get are:
failure 821 Application-Requires-System: unrecognized system
and
result::failure 821 Application-Requires-System: unrecognized system name 'BlackBerry 10'

So my question is:
If someone can look at the file structure and maybe get it to work on the playbook. From there, we could possibly do this with many other apps and not need bb10 after all.
I'm stressing xsacha as I know he has a very good understanding of these things but I invite everyone possible to try and get this work.

So what do y'all say about this!?

i'll try to modify the manifest file to change the 'bb10' to playbook os

doesnt work, crashes on startup. this app is compiled for BB10 so it wont work with the current PB OS

yes jeroen_13 knows how to do this as he's a developer and also he managed to make this app think it's on a pb and for that im grateful. But in other threads, xsacha is known for fixing exactly what I want

Hey, I'll upload the .bar file within 2hrs so you guys can modify it if you want.
Most of the BB10 apps won't work on the playbook (on my method) because they've been compiled with the BB10 SDK.

The BB10 SDK and Playbook SDK are way different.
BB10 uses: ImageSource: imagefile.png
Playbook uses: image: imagefile.png

There are more of those things that are different..

how would I contact them? Also, for now, can someone do what jeroen_13 did earlier (or himself) and try to make it work on pb as I'd like to compare it with his crackberry app and maybe offer new suggestions for him

Porting a BB10 Cascades app to the playbook is difficult. It requires a special method that you need to understand/know. I've done it before so I'll do it again this time on the CB10 app

I feel the same way. Sadly, the only techno geek here is jeroen_13 but I am a wanna be. Anyways, hope this works
