Ok this is it, the first try has been made and I can see a tiny light in that long jungle between me and what I've in mind. So I move on and will try to make an HTML 5 app that will allow chat (even multiple users) in a cross-platform mean (yet, flash required).
My V0 goals :
1/ PB resident HTML5 app
2/ 1 to 1 video + voice conferencing
3/ Native contacts embed with, hopefully, BBM notifications.
4/ "Send invite to :" to send an http link to ... anybody !
The main point is video/voice sync and lags ... but working on it right now.
If you have some time to spare for testing ... well, just leave a comment bellow (you don't have to PM me or leave anything public here, I'll PM you if needed) and please precise what platform you can use for the tests (Flash and facing cam required) !
Also please note I'm CET+1 time zone ...
Now that I wrote this ... I can't run anymore ... code, Superfly, code !
I'll be happy to help. I'm in CST but have various hours for wake and sleep. I can test with my PlayBook, Laptop with built in webcam running Windows Vista, or Desktop with USB webcam running Windows 7.
I'll totally test, on a BlackBerry PlayBook with OS 2.0, and a laptop with Windows 7 32-bit. I can test on both, but the laptop webcam isn't working. Everything's great on the PlayBook though!
I can help when I'm off duty as well, I'm in +4.5 timezone so a little ahead of you, but might work out since my "free time" would be late evenings/Nights for me.
I have PlayBook with latest OS 2. I have laptop at my disposal as well dual boot Windows Vista/Ubuntu might create another partion and build Gentoo on that.
Wow ... guys, you rock !
Sorry, the "thanks" button displays ... occasionally, so that it's better I give a global THANKS
I'll update when required and let you know.
Tough times ... P2P video requires a lot of ... learnings !
But I'll stick to this and try to deliver something acceptable.
Of course I'll keep info in this thread.
Thx again to everybody.
