This is strange.
I am normally computer savvy. If I can't figure it out, usually a 5 min Google search does the trick.
But, I'm stumped and decided to ask here.
I have W7 and PB with multiple Boxee remote apps.
But, for the life of me can't get any to work.
No idea how to figure out the Host name, the port, or the IP address. I can find these categories in the network settings of Boxee, but it doesn't tell me the host ip or name or anything.
Can anyone explain to me how to set this up?
Side note: I find it odd that such a thing is so difficult to figure out.
Perhaps I am an ?
If you looking for the local network, if you have access to a linux box (maybe it works with windows...? Not sure)
nmap -sP 192.168.1.0/24
(Replace '192.168.1.0' with whatever the base for your home network is 192.168.0.0 72.0.0.0 etc)
It wont tell you which it is, but it'll tell you what comps are on your local ip4 network. Should get you hooked up pretty easy.

?? Could you explain this a bit more clearly.
I found my ip address from the link you provided, but I don't understand the "/24."
Or the "nmap -sp" or the local ip4 network?
Still confused.
Basically, could some list out simple steps on how I find my BoxeeBox(my computer) units IP address?
The ip address from the link provided did not work.
Also, after enabling webserver and proxy, Boxee says it can't connect to the internet.
