    Hi All,

I would like to start using my PlayBook as a GPS in my car in the near future. Which GPS app would you recommend? Free apps are preferred. Thanks!

I used Magellan gps app on the playbook. It loads your location much faster than Bing maps.

If you're looking for offline navigation, you're probably better off using Osmand, as noted above, which is free and in app world.

Google Maps need to be sideloaded. You should note that it's only really good for navigation if you're online It's very limited in the amount of map data that can be cached for offline use, and when offine it cannot calculate routes for navigation.

    Just noticed this article:

Google Maps gains lane guidance, improved offline caching and Uber cab support in latest mobile update | MobileSyrup.com

I doubt it changes what pacoman says above, but at least the offline caching is better. Though I'm not sure whether the latest Google Maps will work as a sideload on the PB, but thought I'd share all the same.
