Is there any way of telling which .BAR files are actually converted APKs without the author saying so and which are not. Thanx for your help.

.APK converted apps open up as an App Player app.

Also, there are none on the App store as of yet.

All BAR files are merely .zip files with a different extension. You can open them and inspect the contents to determine what type of app it is.

Among other things, native ones will generally have a "native" folder. AIR and WebWorks apps will have an "air" folder inside. The APK apps will have an "android" folder.

For more precision, look inside the file META-INF/MANIFEST.MF which is just a text file that all PlayBook apps will have, and examine the Entry-Point-Type value.

The Android ones have "Entry-Point-Type: Qnx/Android".
