I am getting an error message when opening App World on my PlayBook that says "BlackBerry App World is not currently available in your country. Please check BlackBerry.com/appworld for updates."
Well, I'm in Connecticut. I know we are different here in CT, but I thought we were still part of the good old US of A!
Anyways, any ideas what might be wrong or how I may fix it? I've been using App World for a while with no problems. I'm on OS2.0 and not rooted.
EDIT: P.S. My Language is set to English and my Country/Region is set to US.
I also live in CT and just got that error as well... It is April 4th, 10:52 PM EST, tried resetting my country and language and still nothing. Thank God apps aren't BlackBerry's strong suit or I would be really angry right about now.
I got this message this morning. I'm in Florida and have never had a problem getting into AW. I rebooted my PlayBook, but that didn't help. Not sure what's happening here. RIM needs to step it up.
I have occasionally had similar error messages, along with the slightly more frequent, "AppWorld not available...."
A full re-boot normally fixes this
Not actually sure if the re-boot is required, or it is just about a 3 minute delay (eg reboot time) so that RIM's systems can get their knickers untwisted.......
Also wondered if it was just because RIM was suffering from a peak in network traffic at the time (or was being targetted in a DoS attack, etc)
For a company that prides itself as a tool for business, it's not good that AppWorld goes up and down like a toilet seat. I won't extend the toilet metaphor, but I'm sure you can fill in the blanks.
